Alleged drug lord, Eneh Wilfried Amobi, has been apprehended by security operatives in India in possession of cocaine worth as much as $1.4million. Amobi was nabbed at a suburban railway station in Mumbai. Popular newspaper, The Hindustan Times, said a team from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) caught him after a tip-off by a ticket checker. According to an official, 47yrs old Amobi was caught with a large quantity of contraband. “Amobi said he was as a tourist and as he wanted $200 to return home, he offered to smuggle the drug,” Kumar Sanjay Jha, NCB zonal director, Mumbai and Goa region said. 

The Chairman of Blue Diamond Logistics, China, Mr. Festus Mbisiogu, has called on Nigerian Government to urgently look into the growing number of Nigerians detained in Chinese prisons over allegations of drug trafficking, saying more than 1,000 Nigerians are in Chinese prisons. Speaking on the backdrop of a protest in Abuja, yesterday, over the increasing number of Nigerian citizens in Chinese jails, he urged state governors to embark on enlightenment campaigns to discourage indigenes of their states against drug trafficking. 

One Samson Olukunmi, a traveler has been arrested by operatives of Department of State Service at Muritala Muhammed Int'l Airport, Lagos for being in possession of undeclared $70,000. Olukunmi, a resident of 14 Omidun Street, Lagos Island was accosted at the airport by the DSS operatives on suspicion of money laundering. Olukunmi was caught after he denied being in possession of such amount of money but when he was subjected to a search the foreign currency was found hiding in his luggage. He was immediately arrested and taken to the DSS office for further interrogation.

A young man terrorising students of the University of Ibadan got more than he bargained for after he was descended on by a mob. According to reports, the man who was caught with charms, came with another guy as they tried to rob a room in Mellanby Hall, U.I. The other guy escaped, leaving this one to his fate as he got beaten mercilessly.

Former Super Eagles captain and striker, Daniel Amokachi, has been elevated to the position of Technical Director of Finnish League side, JS Hercules. A 38-year-old commercial bus driver, Kester Edun, who was handcuffed by policemen to a patrol van and subjected to inhuman treatment for about seven hours in the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, says he did not commit any offence. Edun was handcuffed to the van after his passenger escaped arrest. The victim, a father of one from Delta State, had earlier been stopped by the security operatives from the Esigie Police Division. The policemen were said to have searched him but found nothing incriminating on him. His passenger, however, fled when the security operatives found something on the ground suspected to be hemp.

The cells were more like designer flats with en-suite bathrooms, colour-coordinated furniture, LED lighting and well-stocked fridge-freezers. This is the luxurious prison where criminals enjoyed air-conditioned cells complete with plasma TVs, games consoles and even a ‘Kamasutra room’ that is used for conjugal visits with their wives and girlfriends. Members of organised crime gangs from an overcrowded jail were transferred to a new maximum security prison. But photos of their former pampered prison have been posted on social media.

Shock hit many followers of Nigerian film industry on Thursday when news of celebrated actress, Moji Olaiya death surfaced in the social media. Moji, daughter of highlife veteran, Victor Olaiya, was said to have died in an hospital in Canada. Apart from continuing to make waves on the screen, Olaiya was in the news in March when she gave birth to her second baby from another marriage, having remained a divorcee for years.

A three-storey building under construction at 2/4 Richard Abimbola Street off Limca Road in Ire, Akari Estate, Isolo area of Lagos collapsed on Thursday. Many were trapped in the building. About 15 people were rescued alive but an undisclosed number of people are still trapped inside as at the time of report.

A student of Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Damilola Adegoke reportedly committed suicide by drinking "sniper" insecticide. It was gathered that on Tuesday, Damilola's mum returned home to find her daughter lying on the floor with an insecticide. Friends of the deceased have expressed shock over her sudden death. One wrote; "No matter the circumstances, worries, troubles, disaster never look down on your self and always pray hard. It's a pity this tight friend of mine Damilola Adegoke took snipper yesterday and gave up the ghost after uploading her pics on fb. May her soul rest in peace".

It was learnt that the incident happened around 2pm. Emergency officials are on the ground battling to rescue the victims. The cause of the collapse was unknown as at the time of reporting.

Sources say the burial arrangement of deceased Yoruba actress, Moji Olaiya is causing an unexpected rift within her family. The late actress was a practising Muslim who converted from Christianity as an adult, and certain members of her family are suggesting that she be interred today according to Muslim rites. But her 20-year-old daughter, Adun is having none of that and insists that her mother’s corpse be brought back for burial in Nigeria.

Wife of ex-President, Taiwo Obasanjo has said that the wedding between her son, Olujunwo and Tope Adebutu, daughter of Baba Ijebu, is an occult ceremony which will result in feast of death. In a statementon Tuesday, Obasanjo said that the May 11 and 13, 2017 chosen by both the Obasanjo and Adebutu family for their children’s wedding was compelled by Satan to lure unsuspecting numerous souls to a banquet of death that would herald in strange holocaust in the country. Obasanjo who had earlier lost an attempt to use the court to stop the wedding, stated that her plea to family members on the evil consequences of the wedding date and the need to postpone it fell on deaf ears. She also claimed that her daughter-in-law, Tope and and her mother, Rosemary Dacosta intended to use the wedding to prolong their life and renew their covenant with Satan.

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has sent his heartfelt messages to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Aremu Akilu over the fire outbreak at his palace in Lagos Island yesterday. Although, Nigerians have been claiming that the fire incident that affected the main sections of the Lagos palace, was a result of Oba Rilwan snubbing the Ooni of Ife at a public function, a week ago. But in a brief chat with Premium Times, the spokesperson of the Ooni’s palace, Moses Olafare said the Ife monarch is sad over the fire outbreak and that the incident has nothing to do with the Ooni of Ife snub.

A corps member serving in Zamfara, Fidelis Chalokwo, has been declared wanted by the Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, over N30m school fees fraud involving 940 students. It was learnt that the 940 students of the institution risked being restrained from sitting for their second semester examination. The affected students were considered ineligible by the bursary department of the university to sit for the examination because they had reportedly not yet paid their school fees.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha, has broken her silence on her husband’s health, amid growing concerns about the president’s fitness. The tension is building. North Korea’s state media on yesterday confirmed the arrest of a US citizen who was lecturing in Pyongyang — the third American held in the country amid growing tensions with the Donald Trump leadership in Washington DC. The man, Kim Sang-Duk [or Tony Kim], was arrested at the capital’s airport on April 22, 2017, for allegedly “committing criminal acts of hostility aimed to overturn the DPRK”, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said, using the country’s official name. There are fears that Trump may soon conclude for a total showdown with North Korea.

Success does not come cheap. It requires hard work, perseverance and a lot of sacrifices to achieve it. It is difficult to abdicate something you are used to. However, when you think of the results of your sacrifice, you should be willing and ready to do away with them.  Time  We all have 24 hours. For many, this is never enough. However, if you really want to be successful, you have to plan your schedule and invest your time wisely. In addition, you have to cut off the things you waste time on and refocus them on important and relevant things. You barely have any free time if you are pursuing success.

A Nigerian man, Chris Ani is appreciating God Almighty after surviving a very terrible accident that could have taken his life on Monday. Chris, a Pastor at Amazing Cell Wisdom Fellowship, was left unscathed even though his vehicle somersaulted four times.

Iga Idunganran, the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, on Lagos Island, was the scene of confusion on Tuesday as fire gutted part of the monarch’s royal resident. A source confirmed that Oba Akiolu was at the palace when the fire started. The fire emanated from an air conditioner in the palace around 1.30pm with smoke billowing to the sky, which attracted a mammoth crowd to the area. The palace gate was, however, shut to the crowd as firefighters from the Lagos Fire Service battled with the fire. It was eventually put out around 3.30pm. The palace authorities are not ready to speak on the fire.
