Tonto Dikeh says dressing like a man to her son, King Andre's school's father's day celebration yesterday, goes a long way to show him how much he will never feel left out or unloved. She said this in a post she shared on IG this morning. Tonto has had custody of her son since her marriage to her estranged husband and Andre's father, Oladunni Olakunle Churchill, fell apart. The wife of billionaire kidnapping kingpin, Mrs Uchenna Onwuamadike, who is finding it very difficult to keep quiet since her husband was arrested, shared a photo of herself and her four children with Evans crying as they pleaded with Nigerians to have mercy on their father. She said in an interview; Our children could not believe what they were reading about their father. They are saying that he cannot do all the things they said he did. In fact, while we were in Nigeria, he had never slept outside our house. My children were crying when they saw his bloody eyes and swollen face. Our condition was worsened when I saw my picture with him and our children on the Facebook. I don’t know where they got it. I have not been receiving money from him, I have never seen his money.

Man jailed for sharing photo of dead London fire victim on Facebook

A 43 year old man named Omega Mwaikambo who posted pictures on Facebook of the body of someone believed to have leapt to his death from the Grenfell Tower fire in London has been jailed for three months.   According to the Telegraph, Mwaikambo who lives just yards away from the tower posted one video and two pictures of the body bag with the man inside and then later five pictures of the victim's face and body after opening it to look inside, all on Facebook. He pleaded guilty at Westminster Magistrates Court to two counts of sending by a public communications network an offending, indecent or obscene matter. After his arrest he provided the police with the pin to his iPad and phone and the images were taken down from the web.

Air Peace Boosts Expansion Drive With 13th Aircraft

Air Peace on Friday gave its expansion project a big push with the arrival of one of the new aircraft it acquired to increase its fleet size to 22. The new aircraft, a Boeing 737-300, touched down at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at about  12.30pm . It got a warm welcome from excited Air Peace staff. For seven years, suspected dare-devil kidnapper, Chukwudemeje George Onwamadike aka Evans, escaped police dragnet. His escape during his daring kidnapping runs had conferred on him supernatural invincibility of sort. His reign, however, came to an end last Saturday, after a police special squad led by Abba Kyari, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), arrested him at his No 3, Fred Shoboyede Street, Magodo, Lagos home, after a fierce gun battle which lasted several hours. An abduction carried out by his gang on February 14 this year had paved way for his demystification. Billionaire Kidnapper Evans' Mother Goes Into Hiding

The mother of notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, a.k.a Evans, who was recently arrested in Lagos, has reportedly gone into hiding to avoid the crowd that besiege her Umudim, Nnewi home in Anambra state after news of the arrest of her son filtered in.  Her disappearance coincided with the disclosure by the Obi of Umudim, his village, Chief Benneth Okafor, that the arrested kidnap kingpin was not known in his community as he hardly visited home, neither did he have any investment in the community.  Lady Nwosu (Evans’mother) on the run Lady Nwosu, as Evan’s mother is popularly called, was described as a no nonsense woman.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that 17 people are dead, but the death toll is expected to rise, after the huge fire outbreak that engulfed a 24-storey residential apartment tower in West London.  These first pictures show the complete devastation left behind. Blown out windows, melted kitchen tables and washing machines, and other personal belongings were completely destroyed inside the apartments. Firefighters are carefully going through the building to search for survivors, but it's still too risky for now to try to recover them from the upper floors of the unstable tower. Structural surveyors, Urban search and rescue specialists would inspect the building today and once it's declared safe, a full search would take place. London fire chief Dany Cotton said;

Chimamanda Adichie becomes first Nigerian to receive the Mary McCarthy award in New York

Renowned Nigerian author and feminist Chimamanda Adichie has been awarded the revered Mary McCarthy Award for her work as a writer and prominent public awareness on social issues. She became the first Nigerian to receive the prestigious award at an event that held at Bard College, New York recently. The McCarthy award which is named after famous novelist Mary McCarthy who taught at Bard College for a year, is given in acknowledgement of engagement in the public sphere by an intellectual, artist, or writer. Some other notable recipients of the award are Margaret Atwood (the author of The Handmaid’s Tale), Zadie Smith, Mona Simpson, and Susan Sontag. The Mary McCarthy Prize in short fiction includes a $2,000 cash award, publication of a collection of short stories or novella and a standard royalty contract.  

Kidnapper Evans Cries Uncontrollably As He Is Placed In cell With 'common poor criminals''

Suspected kidnap kingpin Chukwudemeje George Onwuamadike alias Evans is not finding it funny in police custody. He is weeping that he is being held among “common poor criminals”, The Nation is reporting. The kingpin, who was arrested on Saturday at his 3, Fred Shoboyede Street, Magodo, Lagos home, is being kept in a maximum security cell. It was gathered that Evans broke down yesterday, lamenting the state of the police cell. A source said he lamented that after making billions, owning gold, diamond and living like a king, he finally ended up in a cell with poor suspects. It was gathered that he told his interrogators he has two other detention camps in Lagos.
