Nigerian songwriter and newest artiste, Nuhu Zakari (aka Nuzak) has released his latest single. It is titled Olowo Laye Mo. The song preaches lots of message. “Everything is all about making money,” he said. “Not that I am perfect; I am just saying that our parents need to know and understand the kind of music we do. Olowo Laye Mo is a song that preaches lots of message.” Nuzak hinted that as an artiste he has to pass a message across to the society in other for them to be on the right track.

Scores of people who thronged the Oyo State police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan to catch a glimpse of four suspected ritualists could not hold back their tears as one of the suspects, Tunde Jimoh, gave a chilling description of how they tricked their victim, Akintoye Oyeyemi, into a deep forest and murdered him in cold blood. Looking deceitfully innocent, the suspect, Tunde Jimoh said, “I am a business man who deals in cashew nuts. My brother’s friend came to him and said he would pay the sum of N10million for a business transaction.”

The "authentic" General Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor led other officers to Evangel House in Enugu on Wednesday evening to take over the church’s national secretariat from the former General Superintendent, Rev. Paul Emeka.  According to reports, Emeka refused to vacate his office in the secretariat, and continued to parade himself as General Superintendent, after his removal by the church’s General Council on March 6, 2014.

A student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, Olamijulo Mayowa Emmanuel who is in 300 level has been declared missing after he left home on 27th march 2017 and has not been seen since then. Mayowa, of the department of geophysics, was said to have boarded a bus from Ibadan, with the intention of going to Konigba junction, Ago Iwoye but all efforts to get through to him have been in vain. It was revealed through the office of students affairs that he is a senator and constituency leader of the faculty of science in OOU. His father, Mr Olamijulo, said he dropped him at Iwo road a popular park in Ibadan yesterday morning and they’ve not heard anything from him since then. The concerned father went to the school to complain. He said "it has been confirmed that there was no accident on the road” so something else must have prevented him from reaching home. According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Susan Elya is wanted in a case of criminal breach of trust and obtaining money by false pretence. The lady, an Australian, allegedly collected the sum of N20million from a complainant, promising to help change the money to dollars. However, after receiving the funds, all efforts to reach Elya failed. The suspect is at large while all efforts to apprehend her has proved futile. Elya is 39 years old and dark in complexion. She speaks English Language fluently.  Her last known address is No 11 Vernam Street, Maitama, Abuja.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was also looking into how the Senator operates as much as 20 bank accounts in six banks with different signatories. The senator allegedly used a company, to buy a 12-storey building in Apapa, Lagos, belonging to the Delta State Government for N805 million.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan zonal office, Oyo State, on Thursday said a herbalist was arrested by its operatives for falsely obtaining N45m from a victim under the pretext of offering herbal and spiritual healing. The suspect, Aminat Okiribiti, 34, committed the crime with two other accomplices at large, one of who is said to be her husband.

* Approves Electronic Voting  * Collated Results to be Electronically Transmitted  The Senate has passed amendments to the Electoral Act 2010, approving the use of electronic voting in future elections. It also approved that election results should be electronically transmitted to collation centers. The passage of bill followed the consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on a Bill for an Act to amend the Electoral Act No. 6, 2010 and for other related matters (SB 231 and SB 234).

There was confusion yesterday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, as a bird purportedly turned into a woman. The incident, which occurred at Agip/Ada-George junction, attracted a crowd. The bird purportedly turned into a woman after it was electrocuted by a high tension wire. An eyewitness, Promise Amadi, who confirmed the incident, claimed the bird perched on top of a high tension pole at the junction when electricity was restored. He said the bird was electrocuted and it fell down and purportedly turned into a woman, with cowries on her neck.

A Nigerian pilot, Ademilola Odujinrin, who works for Air Djibouti has become the first African pilot in history to fly solo around the world. Ademilola “Lola” Odujinrin completed the final leg of his historic journey on Wednesday afternoon, landing safely at Washington Dulles International Airport.

A man, Taiwo Olubayode, has been sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment with hard labour by a family court sitting at Oke-Eda, Akure, the Ondo State capital. The 56-year-old was convicted for impregnating his 16-year-old daughter on Oke-Ijebu Street, Odode-Idanre, in Idanre Local Government Area of the state. The convict, who was brought before the court by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, was charged with one count of having incestuous relationship with his daughter. The offence is contrary to and punishable under sections 31 (1) and 31 (2) of the Ondo State Child’s Right Law of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, 2007. Olubayode pleaded not guilty to the charge on his first arraignment. He was later found guilty by the family court.

Whenever I see things like this I don't just blame the woman but the crazy man who doesn't know that he's attracting curse into his life and that of his family by having s*x with a married woman that another man has paid traditional rites on her head. The police have arrested a minister with the Mountain of Fire Ministry, Oshodi District, Lagos, Pastor Franklin Chinedu for allegedly defrauding a widow, Charity Onje Isaac who was paid her late husband’s gratuity. It was gathered that the victim, Charity, was deceived through a false prophecy and lost the N850,000 she was paid by her late husband’s employer, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN. The incident happened at Biliaminu Close, Oke-Afa area of Isolo where the victim allegedly surrendered the money as requested by Pastor Chinedu. It was gathered from the victim that Chinedu prophesied to her and asked her to give him the money as he was divinely directed by God. The Benue State-born widow obediently gave him the money but later realised that she had been duped.

A member of the House of Representatives, Nse Ekpenyong, was on Thursday arraigned at the Federal High Court, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for alleged forgery of a polytechnic diploma. Mr. Ekpenyong represents the Oron Federal Constituency, Akwa Ibom State. The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, which arraigned the federal lawmaker on nine count charges, accused him of forging a national diploma certificate of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, Abia State. One of the charges read; “That you Nse Bassey Ekpenyong on or about 22 November 2012, at Uyo, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did make a document to wit: Abia State Polytechnic National Diploma Certificate in Business Administration with No. 001181 dated 22nd November, 2012 with intent that it may be acted upon as genuine which you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1 (2) (C) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act Cap M 17 of the Revised Edition (Laws of the Federation of Nigeria)

Ahmed Kathrada is a renowned South African activist and close friend of Nelson Mandela. He died on today at the age of 87 after a brief illness following a brain surgery he had recently. Derek Hanekom, the chairman of the Kathrada Foundation confirmed his death saying, 'Comrade Kathy was a gentle, humane and humble soul. He was a determined revolutionary who gave his entire life to the liberation struggle of our country,"  The Nelson Mandela foundation has also issued a statement on his demise that reads, 'He was a member of that generation of South African leadership which made a post-apartheid conceivable. His commitment to core values was unshakeable, inspiring a life-time of service and informing a rejection, right to the end, of the abuse of power in any form".

Following reports of illegal recruitment exercise into federal civil service, the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has given nod to the dismissal of five directors at the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD). The five directors were sacked with immediate effect. All five of them were reportedly appointed during the administration of former President, Goodluck Jonathan in contravention to one of the public service rules that has to do with their age as at the time of recruitment. They were found guilty of employment irregularities after investigation.

David Adedeji Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is down with an undisclosed illness. The Omo Baba Olowo crooner shared the poor state of  his health via his Snapchat and fans have been praying for his quick recovery. 

The Abuja command of the Nigerian Police has reportedly issued a Warrant of arrest against Mr Omoyele Sowore over the petition sent to the Inspector General of Police by Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West. Senator Melaye complained of threat to his life as a result of Sowore's cyber-stalking which is punishable under the Nigerian law. He said since the malicious and rebellious publication against him over the claim by Sowore that he did not graduate from the Ahmadu Bello University, that false report has caused him severe public embarrassment.

Senator Dino Melaye has shared a copy of his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Certificate. The document states that he started the programme on 9th July 2000 and finished on 8th July 2001.  On Monday , the Vice Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Ibrahim Garba, affirmed that Melaye graduated from the institution with a 3rd class in Geography in the year 2000.

Football star John Mikel Obi made a big move to the Chinese Super League, after joining Tianjin TEDA earlier this year. His Russian lover, Olga and their twin daughters have relocated to be with him. A 31-year-old salesman, Onwuma Uche, has been arrested by the police for allegedly converting his boss’ N53m into personal use. The suspect was said to be running a business venture on behalf of the boss, Onyeka Nkem, at Imo Plaza, Balogun Market, Trade Fair on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Lagos. Cosmetics, perfume, among other items, were traded in the shop in large quantities. Nkem stocked the shop with cartons of perfume valued at N43.4m, and cartons of Shampoo valued at N60m, sometime in 2013. It was, however, alleged that Uche tampered with the venture’s account books and invoice, and failed to remit N53m to the owner’s account.

Wickedness these days ehn...hmmm! Police in Ogun State has arrested a murder suspect, Adeoye Ikugbayigbe, for allegedly killing a 72yrs old woman, Mrs. Funmilayo Shada, over a land. The 23-year-old was alleged to have also cut off Funmilayo’s head with a cutlass. Ikugbayigbe was caught by the victim’s son, Ekundayo, who was on the way to seeing his mother who was supposed to be at her farm. He reported the case to the police at the Abigi division, leading to the arrest of the suspect. The Ogun State police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement confirmed the incident.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has furnished President Muhammadu Buhari with details of how Senate President Bukola Saraki and his aides allegedly laundered over N3.5 billion from the Paris Club loan refund. The report, compiled by detectives in the anti-graft agency, followed months of investigation, and was submitted to the president on March 10, 2017. In the report, the EFCC narrated how Saraki, using his deputy chief of staff and aides, laundered N3.5b that he allegedly received from the Paris Club loan refund to state governors. How the Paris Club loan refund was spent by public officials has been a subject of controversy for several weeks, with EFCC hinting at some point that an investigation was underway. Governors fought against the allegations, describing EFCC’s probe of the fund as “unwarranted attack on the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, its officials and associated entities.” But in its report to Buhari, EFCC detailed how Saraki, in 2016, introduced Gbenga Ma

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has urged Justice Abdulaziz Anka of the Federal High Court in Lagos not to give Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) access to his account in Guaranty Trust Bank which has a balance of N75m. The anti-graft agency claimed that the money, which was paid to Ozekhome as legal fee by the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, was part of the N2.26bn arms procurement fund, which a former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), allegedly looted. The EFCC said they traced N1.22bn out of the N2.26bn Dasuki loot to Fayose. The anti-graft agency stated that Dasuki routed the money to Fayose through a former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro.

Former Central Bank governor, Charles Soludo, yesterday, said that President Buhari inherited a bad economy but made it worse. The former CBN chief said this when he spoke at the ‘Big Ideas Podium’, a public policy debate organised by the Afri Heritage Institution in Enugu. According to him, Nigeria's economy is in a massive compression.
