Xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in SA: Protesters hit MTN office in Abuja

Suspected vandals on Thursday attacked the regional head office of telecommunication giant, MTN in Abuja stealing phones, cash and also destroying vehicle and office equipment.

The vandals invaded the premises at 4 Madeira Street, Maitama armed with sticks and rods in retaliation for the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

An MTN worker said the staff ran to safety when the vandals invaded the premises. Police men in the area were said to have mobilized and stopped the attack shortly afterwards.

Also, Nigerian students have threatened to take action against MTN and DSTV if the attacks of her people are allowed to continue as usual.
