Woman Arrested, Arraigned For ‘Stealing’ T-Shirts
A 55-year-old woman, Mrs. Ngozi Biosah, has been arraigned at the Asaba Magistrates’ Court in Delta State for alleged stealing.
She was charged with allegedly stealing five Polo T-shirts valued at N15,000, belonging to one Mrs. Judith Ojie.
Prosecuting police officer Mrs. Blessing Okafor told the court that the accused allegedly committed the offence on September 19 at Shop 1, DLA Road, Asaba.
She said the offence was punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Law Cap C21 Vol. 1 Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N80,000.
The Magistrate, Akanume Okonkwo, ordered that the surety, who must be a civil servant, should live in Asaba, with evidence of employment.
The case was adjourned till January 4 for hearing.
