HEARTLESS! LADY KILLED AND BUTCHERED IN DELTA STATE

Hmmm....palpable tension has continued to mount in Oki-Agbor community in Delta State following the gruesome murder of a 48-year-old lady, Mrs. Nkemelem Dorothy Onahor, by suspected assassins.

Though the police in Agbor have arrested the prime suspect identified as Christian (surname withheld) and two other persons, the killing of the lady, who is a widow, has continued to create ripples within the Agbor community and its environs. The details are shocking.

Police image maker in the state, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, who spoke with journalists in Asaba, said the suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigation, adding that more arrests would be made.

A source at the Oki community, John Ogbeide, said Mrs. Onahor was on her way to Oke community for a burial in her late husband’s family compound when the assassins attacked and took her life.

It was gathered that the prime suspect (Christian) had waited for two days at a particular spot for the victim, knowing that she would be attending the burial ceremony and attacked her with machetes.

Christian had earlier smashed her car windscreen, forcing her to alight from her car to ask for the reason for the aggressive act.

It was further gathered that the prime suspect and the late husband of the woman hailed from the same Oki community and were friends.

Police PRO said after dismembering the victim, he assembled her parts into the booth of her Camry Car.

Kalu pointed out that it was at the point of driving the car away from the crime scene that the suspect was stopped for interrogation by motorcyclists operating within the area.

Sources say during search, the motorcyclists saw parts of the body of the woman in the booth and apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the police.

Youths in Oki on Monday assembled at Chirstian’s house where they allegedly set his belongings ablaze.
