Fuji music Legend, Kwam 1’s son, Yomade Ayinde Marshal, had his court wedding yesterday. He got married to his girlfriend of many years, Fatima Obe at Ikoyi Registry, Lagos. His happy dad who shared photos on social media wrote; ‘All Glory and praises to God Almighty, Today 25th August 2017 at the marriage registry at Ikoyi, Lagos. My son Sulaiman Iluyomade Adewale Ayinde Marshal and his beautiful wife Fatima Adetutu Obe got married before the chief registrar of marriage Mr Kasali. May God Almighty bless their union with abundance of all things that will make them appreciate the goodness of God. So that they too can do same for their children. Honestly, I’m in a joyous mood’.    

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has taken to Instagram to encourage and pray for Eucharia Anunobi, who lost her 15-year-old son over the week to the cold hands of death.  Sharing a photo of Eucharia on her Instagram page, she wrote; “My prayers and condolences to a great woman of God. We can’t understand it all but God has a bigger and greater plan..You are not alone Mama, We are with you in prayers.. It’s well, Stay strong mighty woman of God… The kingdom of God needs you more now …Fire Up mama”

A 32-year-old Prophet and leader of a church in Burgersdorp outside Tzaneen in Limpopo were arrested by the South African Police on Tuesday, August 22 for raping two 14-year-olds, a 15-year-old and 17-year-old he lured into his church claiming he wanted to pray for them. The self-acclaimed Prophet whose name was given as Ngoepe married with three children allegedly raped the girls who were ushers inside the church after inviting them for a prayer session on separate occasions. Two mothers of the victims yesterday, recounted how their daughters were sexually assaulted. The mother of the 15-year-old victim said she was initially happy when her daughter started attending the church last year. “I am so hurt and disappointed. I thought my child was going there to improve her life but I was wrong,” she told The Sowetan.

  It is no longer news that the Ooni of Ife,  HRM  Adeyeye  Enitan  Ogunwusi’s marriage to beautiful Wuraola Zaynab Otiti (née O) has hit the rocks,  less than two years after it was contracted in an elaborate ceremony. Since the news of the crash broke, many have hurled accusations bordering on infidelity on Olori Wuraola and also called her unprintable names. However,  a close source to the estranged couple has revealed the real reason Olori Wuraola voluntarily packed out of the palace,  otherwise known as the House of Oduduwa. The source disclosed to Spy Glass that Olori Wuraola had been victimised by some of Ooni’s family members due largely to the fact that she is not Yoruba and because they wanted to turn her to their slave.

The Imo state government on Saturday began the demolition of the ancestral Eke ukwu market in Owerri, amidst stiff protest by the occupants, and at least a casualty has been recorded.  It will be recalled that the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has been in a protracted move to relocate the market. The governor presented his case citing the traffic problems constituted by trading activities on the strategic "Douglas road" as one of his reasons. Owerri indigenes, however, argued that the market is part of their traditional heritage which should not be tampered with but rather be upgraded with today's shopping mall facilities. However, yesterday, there was a massive deployment of soldiers around the market, ahead of the demolition today. Reports trickling in from the state indicates that a young boy who went to help his mother move her wares was killed by a stray bullet.

  Actress, Eucharia Anunobi, is really in a sad mood due to the death of her son, Raymond Ekwu, whom she lost to sickle cell anemia few days ago. In a telephone chat with Saturday Beats on Wednesday, she said she would miss everything about her son especially the fact that she would no longer come home to him. “Thank you very much for sympathizing with me. I am going to miss everything about my son. Now, there would be no one that would call me to say ‘Mummy where are you? You said you would be home by 7:30 and now it is 7:45. You are 15 minutes late.’ That was how close we were and he was my best friend. I cannot talk much now because I am in the hospital but once I am free, we would talk better,” she said.

France’s President Emmanuel Macron ,39 has run up a make-up bill of $30,000 (€26,000) in his first 100 days in office, offering fresh ammunition to his critics. The bill, revealed by Le Point magazine and confirmed by the presidency to AFP on Friday, was paid to a freelance make-up artist for work since the centrist took power in mid-May. It recalled an embarrassing revelation about the balding former president Francois Hollande who was forced to admit to employing a private hairdresser on a pre-tax monthly salary of nearly €10,000 ($11,800). Opponents seized on the total of the make-up bills — one for €10,000s and another for €16,000 — with most of the French media publishing stories about the issue.

A month after news broke that Usher allegedly gave an unidentified Georgia woman the herpes virus, he's now fighting back. The singer has responded to the $20 million lawsuits filed by a Georgia woman who claims he gave her genital herpes back in April. In Usher's legal docs, obtained by TMZ, he notes her lawsuit says nothing about whether she had been tested prior to their alleged sexual encounter. He says, "A previous sexual partner very well may have already infected her." And, Usher says, she could have contracted the STD after their alleged encounter. And he also says she assumed the risk of getting herpes by having "casual, unprotected sexual intercourse and/or oral sex." However, Usher did not attack the lawsuit by saying he couldn't have given her herpes.  His lawyer also says there's no cause for the woman to secretly file her lawsuit. He's asking the judge to throw out her lawsuit.

Popular Human rights lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye of Due Process Advocate (DPA) has explained why he always stands for women! The Enugu born lawyer revealed that he lost his father and his widowed mother single handedly raised him and his six siblings. He also revealed that his mother who never passed through primary education sent all of them to the university. He wrote:

In a bid to strengthen the anti-graft war in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday signed instruments of ratification for a number of bilateral agreements on anti- corruption with some countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The agreements to be ratified are the pact on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, the agreement on mutual legal assistance in civil and commercial matters, agreement on the transfer of sentenced persons and an extradition treaty. In his remarks after the signing of agreement between the federal government and other entities, President Buhari said he was delighted to perform the duty of executing instruments of ratification of certain agreements on behalf of the federal republic of Nigeria, pursuant to the powers conferred on him by Section 5(1) (a) and (b) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Article 7 of the Vienna Convention on the law of treaties of 1969.

A 26-year-old student has been arrested by the police over alleged attempt to sacrifice his father, two siblings and four of his friends in Ifite -Awka, Anambra state. The suspect, Chukwuemeka Okafor, was said to have obtained the sum of N100,000 from the father under the pretense of using it to set up a business. Confessing to the crime, the suspect said he was roped into the act after he was defrauded of N400,000 by one of his friends who had promised to take him to Dubai. “Amidst these frustrations, I sought the assistance of one Zaki who is very influential in the society and he told me that he made his money through money ritual. He insisted I must join him after revealing the secret, saying he was warned not to disclose such secrets to anybody otherwise his life would be terminated.” he said. The suspect, who said he had no option but to join, produced the pictures of his father, two siblings and five of his friends which he downloaded and printed from his Facebook page. He said

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday dismissed the objection of the police to the hearing of the N300m fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by suspected kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans. Justice Abdulaziz Anka,  dismissed police argument that the case was not ripe for hearing due to the Inspector-General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force being served with court papers in Lagos rather than in Abuja. Justice Anka upheld the argument by Evans’ lawyer, Mr Olukoya Ogungbeje, that by virtue of Order 5 Rule 2 of the Fundamental Rights Procedure Rules 2009, the IG and the NPF were rightly served through their agents at Alagbon in Lagos. The court also agreed with Ogungbeje that Mr Emmanuel Eze, who appeared for the 3rd and 4th respondents in the case, had no right to speak for the IG and the NPF, which was joined in the suit as the 1st and 2nd respondents respectively. Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo says the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christians Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has touched more lives than politicians have done in the country.  Obasanjo said this while delivering a speech at the book presentation of "Pastor E.A. Adeboye: His Life and Calling" which held at the Auditorium of the RCCG Youth Centre, yesterday August 15th. "As a politician, we are supposed to touch lives, but for Pastor Adeboye, he has touched more lives than politicians. He has been a man of God with a difference, whom I benefited from personally when I was consulting to contest the 1999 election,”he said

The Anti Buhari Protesters #OurMumuDonDo has terminated its sit out the protest march in Abuja over death threats being received by the members of the group. The group has been protesting against the continued stay of the ailing President Muhammadu Buhari in London asking him to resume or resign his office. Addressing journalists the Leader of the group, Charles Oputa (Charly Boy)at the Unity Fountain said that the group decided to suspend the protest in order to re-strategise and have a wider plan on the activities of the movement noting that the group has not chicken out as a result of the attack on its members at Wuse market. He explained that their members have received a death threat from various quarters but they are not deterred.
