    The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, on Wednesday, swore-in the two new ministers into the federal cabinet during the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at the the council chamber of the presidential villa, Abuja.   The ministers who have already been cleared by members of the Nigerian Senate on May 3, and were sworn-in into the federal cabinet are;   1. Stephen Ocheni from Kogi State  2. Suleiman Hassan from Gombe State.

The man with the rare medical condition is about to get help   A Nigerian man with an unusual medical condition leaving one of his legs suspended in the air will now receive treatment to be sponsored by the Kogi State government.  The man was spotted by Barry Idakwo in a village near Ugbamaka, Olomaboro local government of Kogi State.    Ahmed Attah, the special assistant on Health to Governor Bello who also works at Specialist Hospital Lokoja revealed that the young man is expected in Lokoja today for treatment under the auspices of the Kogi State Health Funds for Indigent Citizens established by Governor Yahya Bello.

The death toll in  Tuesday’s collapsed building on Lagos Island, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria has risen to eight, with 15 others rescued so far. A four-storey building collapsed at Massey Street on Lagos Island on Tuesday around 2:30pm with many people trapped in the building. As at Tuesday evening, two dead bodies were evacuated from the building while 14 others were rescued alive. But overnight and around 11.00am on Wednesday, six more dead bodies were recovered, making it six people who have died so far. Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA and other emergency responders are still on site trying to see if more people were still trapped. It was gathered that an 11-year old boy was brought out alive from the ruins of the building around 4.00am on Wednesday. General Manager, LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu confirmed that eight dead bodies had been evacuated from the building while 15 people had so far been rescued as at Wednesday morning. Source: Premium Times

According to Hausa platform Rariya, some soldiers boarded the Tricycle (Keke Napep) of the deceased in Maiduguri, Borno state yesterday July 25th. On their way, they noticed he was driving rough and cautioned him. He reportedly answered rudely and out of anger, one of the soldiers shot at him, killing him instantly. They wrote:

Three women have appeared before a court accused of gang raping a pastor who went round to their home to demand money they owed him. Western Commonage Magistrates Court in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, heard how the holy man was grabbed and forced onto a bed and then stripped. The three women Sandra Ncube, 21, Riamuhetsi Mlauzi, 23, and Mongiwe Mpofu, 25, were in the dock charged with aggravated indecent assault. Prosecutor Mr Petros Shoko said the complainant, who is not being named to spare his blushes, was a pastor at a church in Cowdray Park. He said the male victim had gone to the home of the three women as he was owed money and he was invited inside the house to collect it.

Sources close to TMZ say Bieber cancelled the remaining date of his world tour because he wants to rededicate his life to Christ. It is no news, the star has always revealed he was very spiritual before fame took over and was a staunch Jehovah's witness. However, reports also say Bieber's crew is upset at him because he basically cancelled the tour without any explanation, leaving around 200 people out of work and pissed. A building located at Tokunbo Street, off Odunfa, Lagos Island, collapsed on Tuesday, at 3.39pm. According to reports, Many people were trapped in the collapsed building. Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other stakeholders have moved to the scene to evacuate the victims.

Ogbonnaya Oji, a retired colonel in the Nigerian army, is dead! Mr. Orji, from Oboro in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, died on June 20, three weeks after the death of his wife, Christiana, according to information made available to PREMIUM TIMES by his nephew, Ahaoma Kanu, a journalist with National Daily newspaper. He was 76. Mr Orji, who joined the Nigerian army in 1960 as an officer cadet, was later to become one of the major actors of the first military coup in the country in January 1966, alongside the coup leader Kaduna Nzeogwu.

Nollywood Yoruba actor,  Olurotimi Isaiah Ayinde  popularly known as  Abu Olododo  has died after a brief illness. The actor gave up the ghost hours ago in his hometown in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He reportedly died after a brief illness in the early hours of the morning. Ayinde’s death comes barely 48-hours after veteran actor and poet Adebayo Faleti died in Ibadan over the weekend. A 19-year-old pregnant schoolgirl has been found dead after being shot by unknown gunmen.  It is alleged that the deceased was attacked at her home by unknown suspects who broke into the house and shot her several times before fleeing the scene.  The incident took place in  Xikundu village in Malumelela‚ Limpopo‚ South Africa police said on Thursday.

Seventeen people have been confirmed dead in 1,617 reported suspected cases as a cholera outbreak continues to ravage Kwara State in North-central Nigeria. The figures were made known by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its weekly epidemiological report for Week 26 released on Tuesday. The agency further stated that the suspected cases were reported as at the end July 9 with 13 laboratory samples confirming the disease and a case fatality rate of 1.1 percent recorded.
